A Germany-based furniture manufacturer specializing in designing a wide range of soundproof office booths catering to various European nations was facing significant operational challenges. Their reliance on Excel for business operations led to numerous issues including errors, inaccuracies, and inefficiencies. The client sought to implement the Odoo inventory management system to improve operational efficiency by automating inventory management, purchasing, sales, and billing operations.

Our client was having difficulty maintaining their product portfolio. Manual management of business operations using Excel resulted in errors and inefficiencies. To address these challenges, we needed a solution that would optimize the entire process, mitigate human errors, and reduce delays in product delivery.

Specific issues included:

  • Inaccurate demand forecasting for furniture, leading to overstocking or understocking.
  • Errors in order processing.
  • Inefficient warehouse management.
  • Financial leakages owing to manual accounts management.

Business Solution

Zehntech configured the system to align with our client’s business workflow, ensuring ease of operation and meeting specific needs. We migrated existing inventory, purchases, sales history, and customer information from Excel to Odoo, ensuring accurate and efficient data transfer.

We implemented an Odoo inventory system that includes:

 

Inventory Module: This module tracks inventory in real time, allowing our client to know their stock levels and locations. It also provides alerts for low or high inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.

 

Sales Module: This module assists in creating and managing sales orders and quotations. It integrates with other modules to update inventory, manage customer information, and generate invoices.

 

Purchase Module: This module facilitates our client in the creation and administration of purchase orders, vendor data, and procurement procedures. It integrates with inventory to update product categories and quantities upon receipt of goods.

 

Invoicing Module: This module creates and manages invoices, credit notes, and payment tracking. It ensures accurate billing based on sales and purchases through integration with other modules.

 

Reporting Module: This module provides visual data reports from different modules, including bar charts, graphs, line charts, and pie charts. This helps our client gain insights into their business operations. We provided training sessions for our client’s staff on the new system’s features and functionalities. This helped with quick system adaptability and use it to its full potential.
