VogueVibes is a Europe-based blogging website for fashion enthusiasts, built specifically for southern European readers as the content is available only in Croatian language. VogueVibe was facing challenges with content management as the website was built on .NET platform. Also, .NET platform did not provide enough options to make the website user-friendly, which was impacting conversion rates. To solve these issues, they were looking for a consultant who could suggest a solution. After knowing their pain points and understanding their business requirements, Zehntech’s consultant suggested them to migrate the website to WordPress CMS. Then the team started working on .Net to CMS website migration. Which resulted in an efficient platform that resolved all their problems.

Business Challenge

VogueVibes was facing several challenges related to content management on their existing website, that was built on .NET. Custom coding and a poor user interface were the bottlenecks causing our clients to face numerous challenges. The primary challenge was the inefficient management of a large amount of content, resulting in a lack of productivity which ultimately led to increased costs. Additionally, because of the bad user experience, the bounce rate of the website was increasing exponentially. To overcome these challenges, our client wanted to migrate their website to a more flexible and multi-functional platform that could provide their team with a streamlined content management experience.

Business Solution

Based on the requirements and challenges the client was facing, our experts suggested that WordPress could be an ideal solution. With this, we needed to migrate data from .NET to WordPress, including posts, articles, blogs, and a huge amount of content that had accumulated over several years in various categories.

As the client was unable to provide the required website credentials, that became another challenge to start the migration process. Following this, team found a solution to export .Net data in JSON files, also designed a well-researched architecture diagram to ensure a seamless migration process.

Data Mapping – As we did not have the website credentials, we overcame this problem by exporting data from .NET to JSON files and then converting JSON files into CSV format. Now, to import data from CSV files to WordPress, we added some custom fields for data mapping in WordPress. With this approach, we completed the data migration to WordPress without losing a single piece of data.

Custom Fields – To effectively manage the content, we used a default WordPress theme. We created some custom data fields within the default WordPress backend to maintain the formatting of the existing website’s content. This allowed us to effectively manage and present the content in a structured manner.

WP Plugin Customization – For the data migration, we used the WP All Import plugin. However, the default features of the plugin were not sufficient to meet the client’s requirements. Because of that, we customized the WP All Import plugin to ensure data security and prevent any loss of information when importing data from JSON-converted CSV files to WordPress. This customization facilitated the import of data from CSV files into WordPress.
